About the Job:

Antero Group is seeking a talented and highly motivated Planner/Designer to join our growing team in Chicago. This is a dynamic position that provides exposure to an array of urban planning and design project types. The selected candidate will work on multidisciplinary teams to support a variety of urban planning and design projects such as comprehensive plans, corridor studies, transportation plans, green infrastructure plans, site plans, community visioning processes, and others. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Urban Planning / Design Production

  • Support a wide range of community planning and design projects and tasks
  • Prepare, review, and produce high-quality plans, reports, maps, presentations, and renderings
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder meetings and community outreach and engagement activities
  • Assist Antero staff in implementing marketing and business development strategies
  • Assist in the development of proposals
  • Coordinate with Antero Group staff to ensure smooth business operations and project delivery
  • Assist in preparing for and documenting internal and client meetings
  • Identify opportunities for continual process improvements and innovations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and deliver design products for various formats
  • Excellent creative thinking and design skills
  • A desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and flexible work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple long-term project deliverables and immediate tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work well on teams and individually
  • Proficiency with the following software packages: Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Cloud, and SketchUp (other technical proficiencies a plus)

The selected candidate will work on multidisciplinary teams to support various civil engineering projects such as: residential, commercial, and industrial site development, floodplain management, stormwater remodeling, capital improvement projects, green infrastructure, and others. Job Duties and Responsibilities

Civil Engineering support – 100%

  • Support various civil engineering projects including, but not limited to:
    • Grading
    • Earthwork
    • Quantities takeoff
    • Site Geometry
    • Underground utilities layout
    • Stormwater management
    • Storm sewer design
    • Construction specifications & details

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and has a strong grasp of civil engineering methods, tools, and processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 2-6 years of civil engineering experience (a P.E. is not required for candidate consideration)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Excellent quantitative and engineering skills
  • Excellent project/time management skills
  • A desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and flexible work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple long-term projects and immediate tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work well on teams and individually
  • Proficiency with the following software packages: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater modeling software (a general knowledge of ArcGIS is a plus)
